2015 Matching Grant Recipients

We are pleased to announce the recipients of our annual Storefront Matching Mini Grants.

Local business and property owners from the St. Johns business district were invited to submit a request for one-to-one matching funds between $500-$2,500 to support improvements to the interior or exterior of their buildings. With more requests than funds available, our team had some tough choices to make, but couldn't be more excited for the great projects that Mini Grant recipients like the Man Shop will complete. Entering their 76th year in the business, The Man's Shop will use grant funds to repair their iconic sign so that it will revolve and stay lit through the night.

Golden Harvesters, a membership-based food cooperative serving low-income residents, will have exterior paint and landscaping work done on their property. The Aspire Project, St. Johns’ brand new non-profit outreach dance organization, will install signage, security and make interior renovations. Vern Luce will repair a broken sidewalk in front of his Lombard property.
