MIND & MOUTH Open Mic Night

  • Marrow PDX 7025 North Lombard Street Portland, OR, 97203 United States (map)

MIND & MOUTH is a new written and spoken word community at Marrow. This is the first of what we hope will become a recurring event, sharing work created in and around Portland; centering young voices.

We invite all writers to share their work - young and old, new and established, and especially teens! We'd love to see written and performance work of all forms shared - spoken word, slam poetry, monologues, music with written lyrics, collections of words that can't yet be defined by category, etc.

Sign up for the open mic will be available at the event! Bring words to share!

If you'd like the opportunity to workshop your writing before the event, feel free to attend any of our MIND & MOUTH workshops or drop in periods (currently on Mondays 4-6pm).

This event is FREE and ALL AGES!
No one will be turned away for lack of funds, but we're asking a $5-10 donation at the door to go toward rebuilding and repairing Portland City Market - a woman of color owned business on Lombard (our street) in North Portland. On June 15th a fire was intentionally started outside the business, and they've been forced to close. It is the family's only source of income, and Dee has worked hard to get to where she is. Help us rally around them. You can read more here:
