On April 22, 2015, the Portland City Council adopted the Commercial Building Energy Performance Reporting Policy and administrative rules became effective on October 8, 2015. The rules detail requirements for commercial buildings 20,000 square feet and larger to track and report energy usage, due annually on April 22.
The City of Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability (BPS) is updating administrative rules for more clarity, simplicity and flexibility. We are inviting interested parties to comment on the draft administrative rules available on the policy website at www.portlandoregon.gov/bps/energyreporting.
Comments must be submitted in advance or at the public hearing.
The public hearing will be held on Feb. 8, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the City of Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability, 1900 SW 4th Ave., 7th floor, Room 7A. If there are any changes to the date, time or location of the hearing, we will post an update at www.portlandoregon.gov/bps/energyreporting.
If you would like to suggest changes to the rules but do not plan to attend the hearing, please send your comments in writing by 4 p.m. Feb. 8, 2018.
