Neighborhood Emergency Team (NET) Training

During a major emergency, such as an earthquake, households could be on their own for at least a week or more. People living and working around you likely will be the first to help.

Neighborhood Emergency Teams (NETs) are Portland residents trained by PBEM and Portland Fire & Rescue to provide emergency disaster assistance within their own neighborhoods. NET members are trained to save lives and property until professional responders can arrive. These volunteers are specially trained to help others without putting themselves in harm’s way.

We have open seats in the next NET training class at Marshall High School over three Saturdays (+ a half-day Final Field Exercise yet to be scheduled).
