Apprentice Operating Engineer (Portland’5 Centers for the Arts) - Metro - Full-time

Portland'5 Centers for the Arts is adding an Apprentice Engineer to our full time Engineering staff.  This position works under the direction of the Facility Manager and Lead Engineer to operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair all HVAC related equipment, potable water piping, compressors, pumps, plumbing fixtures, filter systems, exhaust fans, overhead doors, fire sprinkler systems, emergency generators and other mechanical equipment associated with the Portland'5 Facilities, which include the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, Keller Auditorium and Antoinette Hatfield Hall, home of the Newmark, Winningstad and Brunish theaters.
Portland'5 Centers for the Arts is an Authorized Training Agent through the Portland Community College's Trades & Industry Department.  If hired, employee will be required to enter the program. Metro will reimburse employee for tuition and associated fees upon proof of successful completion of each course.  This apprenticeship is intended to allow the apprentice to complete requirements for an Oregon Limited Building Maintenance Electrician (LBME) license.  It is currently planned as a limited duration, two year assignment.

Apprentice Operating Engineer entry rate: $28.54; after 6 months: $29.89/hour
