Job Seeker Resources

St. Johns Center for Opportunity is committed to our vision of “working for everyone” in all senses of the phrase. This page provides an overview of the services offered to local job seekers.

Job Coaching

As a part of Prosper Portland’s neighborhood based initiative to help unemployed and underemployed residents, a Workforce Navigator from PCC has teamed up with the St. Johns Center for Opportunity to provide individualized job coaching for St. Johns and Cathedral Park residents. Mulu Terefe offers in-person and virtual meetings.

Mulu Terefe offers free open office hours every Wednesday at St. Johns Library from 10am-2pm in the Meeting Room. When you enter the library, the Meeting Room is on the left-hand side behind the front desk. Just ask library staff if you need help finding the room.

Local Jobs Board

Our neighborhood jobs board, Jobs in St. Johns, features over a hundred job openings right here in the neighborhood. Have you ever wanted to reduce your commute or travel to work by walking or biking? This page is for you.

Self-Guided Search Resources

If you are needing a little extra help with your job search, this section of our website is for you. Find a job search checklist, considerations for job searches in the digital age, resume and cover letter instructions and examples, interview prep, and special considerations for students, neighbors experiencing houselessness, those living with a disability, members of the LGBTQ+ community, seniors, and those with a history of incarceration.
