St. Johns Center for Opportunity is working to advance equity in the neighborhood through people-centered economic development and community building. We are looking for collaborative, thoughtful, and committed community members who are interested in carrying out our organizational mission and vision, strengthening our neighborhood, and making meaningful connections. Board Member Responsibilities

Becoming a board member for St. Johns Center for Opportunity is an honor and responsibility. We estimate this volunteer role to require a commitment of up to five hours per month, which will ebb and flow throughout the year and depend on your specific role on the board.

Here is a general list of board member expectations:

1. Commit to serve on the board for two years, with an option to renew for two additional years in one year increments.

2. Attend meetings/events:

  • Board Meetings – monthly (fourth Tuesdays in the evenings, currently on Zoom)

  • Board Committee Meetings - monthly or as needed (currently on Zoom)

  • Annual Board Retreat – typically one day, in person

  • Support other organizational programming, such as the St. Johns Farmers Market and Small Business Grants

Board Recruitment Timeline

  • Fill out the form below expressing interest.

  • Depending on the number of submissions, we may not be able to meet with every person who expresses interest. If selected to move forward, we will contact you by email to set up an interview.

  • If selected to move forward after the interview, we will contact you to request that you attend one board meeting to introduce yourself.

  • We will notify you if you are invited to join the board.
