Jamaica House

THIS YEAR, WE WILL FEATURE ONE BIPOC-OWNED BUSINESS IN THE ST. JOHNS NEIGHBORHOOD EACH MONTH.

Throughout 2023, SJCO will be highlighting one BIPOC-owned business in St. Johns each month. If you would like to nominate a business to be featured, please contact community@stjohnsopportunity.org.

For October, we are excited to highlight the Jamaica House Restaurant! The Jamaica House in St. Johns is a vibrant and welcoming restaurant that specializes in serving authentic Jamaican cuisine prepared by Chef Simba, hailing from Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Nestled in the heart of St. Johns, this restaurant offers a true taste of the Caribbean, transporting diners to the sunny shores of Jamaica with its warm atmosphere and flavorful dishes.

As you step into Jamaica House, you are immediately greeted by a lively and colorful ambiance that reflects the spirit of Jamaica (don’t forget to say hi to Meowski the cat). The interior is decorated with vibrant Caribbean artwork, reggae music fills the air, and the walls are adorned with images of Jamaican landscapes and cultural icons. The restaurant is designed to make you feel as if you've stepped into a Caribbean paradise, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.

The menu at Jamaica House is a culinary journey through the rich and diverse flavors of Jamaica. Chef Simba's expertise shines through in every dish, as he prepares traditional Jamaican recipes with a modern twist. The oxtail is a popular dish amongst restaurant goers!

Orders can be placed on GrubHub, DoorDash, or our preferred method, dine in!
