Homies & Kuma Frost
THIS YEAR, WE WILL FEATURE ONE BIPOC-OWNED BUSINESS IN THE ST. JOHNS NEIGHBORHOOD EACH MONTH.
Throughout 2023, SJCO will be highlighting one BIPOC-owned business in St. Johns each month. If you would like to nominate a business to be featured, please contact community@stjohnsopportunity.org.
For November we are excited to introduce you to Homies and Kumafrost food carts!
Meet the dynamic duo behind Homies: John and Kazumi, the same husband and wife team who delighted your taste buds with their daily homemade ice cream at Kumafrost. Now, they've brought their culinary expertise to Homies, located adjacent to each other at the St. Johns Beer Porch.
“At Homies, we're all about crafting delectable Gyoza and Karaage dishes straight from the heart. Our Gyoza is a true labor of love, hand-wrapped and made from scratch every single day. The classic pork Gyoza is generously filled with a flavorful mixture of pork, cabbage, onions, garlic, and ginger, and can be enjoyed either pan-fried or deep-fried to perfection.”
They also offer a vegan Gyoza! Crafted by hand with a fresh daily batch, they use premium ingredients like shiitake mushrooms and locally-sourced produce to create a vegan delight that even meat-eaters can't resist.
Homies is your new go-to for the finest Japanese pot stickers and crispy Karaage, all made with passion and care by John and Kazumi. Come savor the flavors that bring friends and families together!
Even though winter is approaching, who doesn’t love ice cream? “At Kumafrost, our ice cream and sorbet are handcrafted from scratch right in our cart, and we're proud to say that we keep things refreshingly simple. We believe in using only the finest natural ingredients – milk, cream, sugar, and eggs – to create the base for all our delightful flavors.”
Orders can be placed on GrubHub, DoorDash, or our preferred method, dine in!
